Foreign Press Center/Japan fellowship

I took part in an eight-day fellowship program of the Foreign Press Center/Japan centered on the culture of Japanese cuisine (washoku), drink, health and nutrition. It was a wonderful opportunity to travel through Tokyo and environs and Kyoto to explore childhood nutrition, the national school lunch program, fermentation technology, nutrition research, and the art of Japanese confections (wagashi).
